Key Facts

- Trees growing on top of the levee and needs to be removed.
- No filter trench and diaphragm on the levee.
- Outlet drain running in close vicinity of the sewer and is approx. 7m to the invert.
Background
The primary driver for this project was compliance to ANCOLD which provides guidelines and tools necessary to undertake RB safety management.
Scope of Service
The Scope of Work includes to improve the existing conditions of the Retarding Basin.
The key works required under this project include:
- Tree removal form the levee including chasing and removal of the roots.
- Installation of the new filter diaphragm around the outlet.
- Installation of the filter trench on the levee.
- Regrade the top of the levee and new crest capping to the advised RL.
- Reinstatement including section of the football oval.
Safety
Site specific Work pack created.
Toolbox meetings held every day and SWMS followed strictly for all activities of work.
Environment
Environmental Management Plan implemented to prevent sediment laden water from entering waterways or stormwater drains.
Suitable controls implemented to prevent dust leaving worksite.
Stakeholder Engagement
Liaison with council, Aquanis College for seamless delivery.
Work was carried out during normal working hours, and during college break to minimize the impact on the college.
