Connect to Country

Aqua Metro have award winning initiatives that promote employment opportunities for Victorian First Nation communities. One case in point is Wara Paring, which was founded through collaboration with Aqua Metro and Melbourne Water. Since their inception Aqua Metro have continued to employ their services on a number of our projects as well as business mentoring.

As part of our ‘Reconciliation Action Plan’ Aqua Metro looks forward to developing relationships with other First Nation Businesses, people, and councils in the Melbourne metropolitan area. Elders are engaged to provide Welcome to Country and Smoking ceremonies before project mobilisation. This is a significant ceremony to collectively acknowledge the Traditional Owners, engage with more Indigenous businesses and people, and to create a trusted and culturally safe environment for Indigenous people for future projects.

Our new Connect to Country logo, symbolises and strengthens our commitment to advance our reconciliation efforts and create meaningful and sustainable opportunities for Indigenous Australians within our local community now and for future generations.
